Clio Speaks
Your One Stop Shop For Bad Grammer!
Since this blog has been largely a bitch fest lately, I thought I’d take some time out to post about Happy things!- Two new pairs of shoes: Remember these that I wanted so badly a few months ago but couldn’t find in my size? Well, wonderful, beautiful Megan sent me an email one day saying that she saw them at Famous Footwear’s website for $39.99 in 9 1/2 . Ahhhh! I didn’t even think they made half sizes. I had to buy them. I now wear them everywhere around the house, though they haven’t made it outside yet.
More practically, my work shoes (the only thing I own that could remotely be called tennis shoes) were starting to reach the point where the sole separates from the body of the shoe, allowing you to flap it as though it were talking to you, begging you to buy a new pair. So I got these. Cute, no? - Only 13 more days until I’m legally allowed to buy liquor! Woo! Wine basted chicken here I come.
- Everyone I know at other schools are already starting up their year. My brother is going back, all of my non-UC friends are back. I still have another three weeks of summer! I love the quarter system.
- My tutoring is getting off the ground. I have my first lesson next Monday. It feels good to be productively working toward something that actually has some bearing on my future and my career choice, rather than just plowing away at retail.
- I don’t have to pack up all of my things into boxes and move this year. I’ll be starting out the school year on a lovely, non-stressful, non-sawdusty foot. I’ll have plenty of time to get all of my books ahead of time and to finally attend the CCS bar-be-cue. I’m very happy we decided to stay in this apartment for another year.
- Tomorrow I’ll be at Disneyland, the day after that in Tijuana, and the day after that at a country western bar with three good friends. Road trip! I’m so happy to be getting away for a while. And I get to see the family, who lately mean more to me than ever.
Happy days!
